"Home"

People can feel at home in different places... What is home? Is it a place where you belong Where you think you belong? Is it where you come from? For me, Israel is my home. It is a place where I feel I .belong. When I was walking down Ben Gurion Airport, I felt tears in my eyes because of my excitement in realizing I was "home".

Home is a place where you know you belong, but most importantly a place where you feel comfortable and happy. It is a place where you feel welcomed, no matter what the circumstances are. israel is seen around the world as a place of violence. I can tell you that, for me, it is a place where everyone wants peace. It is a place where there are amazing people living their life to the fullest. I can tell you that, for me, Israel is my home.
The past three days have been so amazing! I can't remember when was the last time where I felt an amazing feeling of excitement for something to start. First, all the things that we're doing as a group.: The talks, the ice-breakers, the volunteer coordinators talk. Everything has been amazing. But today I realized something more important than that. We went to the desert to hear the silence ad to see the amazing sorroundings. it was amazing to be there. I felt an amazing peace. I just wrote things down, answered questions that were in an envelope, and laid down to look at nature. We had a talk after and Niran made an amazing tea. Then, we went to a pool BBQ party. We played volleyball ( I missed my BFF Jesi) and just got the chance to hang out by the pool.

The people are awesome! Today we got our room assignments and I love my room. I am living with Niran, Sam, and Sofi. They are all awesome people, but Sam and I really get along great! And We have many things in common, like soccer! I am very lucky to have come on a program with such amazing people.

Everything that we've done has been great! I'm so excited to start the Ulpan classes and the volunterring. Even though I miss home, I am so happy to have this opportunity.

Reality...

The reality that you live... Is your reality the same reality as other people. You all live in the same world, but the way you look at things is different. But is it the same reality???

First, what is reality? We can agree that reality is the notion of things as they exist. By looking at things and seeing their existence, that is their reality. However, not all things are the same and can be interpreted the same way. People look at things differently. People may look at the same thing on different occasions and can interpret them differently, but is it the same thing, or the same reality?

Our emotions also play a roll in our reality. The way we feel at the instant we look at something reflects the reality that we see. If you feel angry or sad, the reality that you see in one thing differs from someone who feels happy or excited. But you are looking at the same thing, right? For example, the rain can cause different realities on different people. For some, the rain might cause anger, while for others, the rain can cause sadness or another emotion. Also, when you look at the rain on one day, you might feel something, but when you look at the rain on another day, then you might change your feelings and your reality is different. Even if the rain and the surroundings are the same. The reality is the rain, but the way the rain is interpreted is very different.

So, what does that say about our reality? The notion of things as they exist need an interpretation of the way we see our reality. This means that we create our own reality because we interpret our surroundings differently from each other. This means that our realities are different. More importantly, we create our own realities, it depends how you look at it... all the time...

Being Happy?

What does it mean to be happy?

I'm sitting at my desk wondering...  Does it mean being happy all the time? Once a day? Is it having a happy life with some moments of sadness? How do you measure being happy? I mean, I'm happy with my life, but there are moments of sadness. Right? So, how do you measure happiness? Every day should be the greatest day of your life. You're alive! Right? So, why do we not live life happily sometimes?

Life is all about making the best of what you have. If we don't have moments of sadness we would never know what is like to be happy... There are people who are suffering all over the world. I wish I could change all of that. Yet, I can't, we can only do so much... What we can do is live every day as if it was our last. We can find peace if we create a state of happiness and peacefulness to make an aura of hopefulness. Maybe you don't agree, but how do you measure the happiness that we are living? I am not talking about you being happy because you bought a car.

Happiness is more than that, what about our family? What about our religion? Where do you come from? Friends... Happiness should be all around us, it is our tool to change the world, and to live every day as if it was your last.

Lessons... Destinations...

This is my second post... I don't know if anyone will ever read this, but I have an urge to write, write, and keep writing. It is a way for me to speak from the heart what I am feeling. It's weird, but true...

Quotes are amazing to me! I love to see in one sentence or two the meaning on life. There are many different topics of course! Yet, the topics move me in one way or another. Love, motivation, life, or anything else allow me to look at life through a different lens.

Here is one quote that I love!

-The road in life has twists and turns, and no two directions are ever the same, yet, our lessons come from the journey, not the destination...

It is so true! Our lessons come from the journey of life, the way that we think and our behavior during the time that we are planning to reach our destination. It is amazing, but true!!

Think about the way you learn things through an experience. You learn those things not because of the destination, but because of the experiences you are getting in reaching your destination.

On a personal note, I will be traveling to Israel in one month. I don't know what my destination will be, but my lessons will come from volunteer work in a coexistence track between Arab Israelis and Jews Israelis. My lessons of understanding and hope will come through working with those Israelis. I don't know what my "destination"will be, I guess the destination comes through the experiences that one lives.  Maybe, just maybe, our experiences are all linked to one another in the end and we are connected to find together our destination.

Just the Way Life Is...

Sometimes we may feel alone, sad, depressed... Is it normal? At the time, we might think it is not! But it's a matter of realizing what one has to come out of this state.

"Life has no smooth road for any of us; and in the bracing atmosphere of a high aim the very roughness stimulates the climber to steadier steps, till the legend, over steep ways to the stars, fulfills itself." W.C Doanne

We need to leap forward, turn every handle on every door. This is the only way we will discover what is what we really want...
